Although I concede that I’ve never heard of jazz guitarist Nick Russo….In the next breath may I suggest to my readers that Nick is a jazz guitarist’s guitarist. He has a perfect sense of both harmonic & melodic artistry & choice which he uses wisely to create such lovely jazz for the instruction of our ears. Nick therefore deals in the realm of strikingly beautiful ‘sonorities’ & dazzling ‘color’ as well as glittering ‘shade’ & ‘delicate’ tones.
He expresses the full lyricism of his instrument with a wide range as well as an unusual level of artistic direction. Glowing……Unique…Singular…Compelling…Believeable….This is the Nick Russo that I write about.
